Two Poems

By Betty Taucher

the dreamer

he was called the dreamer,
but he called us to share it, and be dreamers too.

he said love was real when it was shared,
expressed,
given,
only then could it come back like waves upon the shore.

always hope,
seek,
bring about the thing desired someplace in us all,

make it happen
peace not just in words,
but in the visions and actions of the dreamer and we.

****

macca dream fulfilled

there you were on stage again,
in voice so strong and clear,
with hands of artistry and grace,
a melodic blend of old and new.

with visuals to enchant my eyes,
the joy of your performance echoed
back and forth in waves,
crashing in leaving us ever wanting ever more.

left us drained, yet desiring more
perennially resilient in every song,
your eyes sparkled, reveled in our delight,
you gave us all you had and more.

as fireworks exploded,
in cascades of musical thrill and pleasure,
a most noteworthy night of screams and tears,
an event to treasure through all my years.
