The Special Men In My Life

There are some guys that I know
Four guys, and I love them so
They'll always have a special place
Here in my heart, all of my days.

They were part of a rock and roll band
They were and are the best in the land
They're no longer a team but their music has stayed
That is one thing that will always stay.

There's John, I always loved him best
He had that certain something, different from the rest
His voice never ceases to thrill
His humor amuses me still.

There's Paul, he played the bass
He was the one with the georgeous face
Women clamored to be his date
But he chose Linda as his mate.

There's George, it took him awhile to come out of his shell
But when he did, he did it so well
He gave us beautiful melodies
"Something" brought the critics to their knees.

There's Ringo, always smiling, always having fun
He sat behind them on the drum
He fit in perfectly with this band so great
Them finding Ringo had to be fate.

John, George, Ringo and Paul
I have to say I love them all
Even though if asked, I say John is number one
They're all just fab when all is said and done.

John and George are no longer singing songs
What happened to them was just so wrong
Each left this world in a different way
But they live on in our hearts today.

We'll never forget them, they left a legacy
We'll always have the music, we'll never let it be
We still have Ringo and we still have Paul
But in our memories, we have them all.

Four guys, each one different in their own way
Each one special, changing day by day
Together, they fit like a glove
Together, we had four times the love.

No one can ever take that away
I will love them 'till my dying day.

Tropic Island Hum (Obladi Oblada)

Paul has a film out now in the market place
It's an animation understand
Froggo is the star because Paul liked his face
And Sir Paul hopes that you will take him by the hand.

Do Re Mi Fa So La
Life is Good, hah
Ti Do, yes his life is good.

Froggo takes a swim to his lily pad
Clears his throat and he begins to sing
And he croaks out a tune with them wanting more
And as he sings you seem to forget everything.

Do Re Mi Fa So La
Life is Good, hah
Ti Do, yes his life is good.

In a couple of months Paul has built
A brand new toon
With a couple of frogs swimming in the pond
And Worrel and Hunky too

Selling like mad in the market place
Paul loves the little children in the land
And Linda's smiling down with a happy face
And in her dreams she is still singing with the band.

Do Re Mi Fa So La
Life is good, hah
Ti Do, yes his life is good.

And if you want some fun
Buy Tropic Island Hum!

About the Author

Robin Roberts is 43 years old and has been a Beatles fan her whole life, since she was little girl.  Her favorite Beatle has always been John although she does love them all, of course.  She is the mother of two girls, ages 13 and 12.  She volunteers for many sporting events and community events, and she is also a Girl Scout troop leader and has been for six years.

She works as a secretary but has always loved to write.  She has had short stories, articles and poetry published in various children's magazines in the past, and just recently had some poetry, a couple of articles and song parodies (all Beatles related) published in various Beatles magazines.  Beatlezine is doing a cover story on her song parodies in an upcoming issue and she is very excited about that.

Tell Robin Roberts what you thought of her poems!
