Even More Poetry

By Sharon Richards

Rhapsodizing On

Rhapsodizing on a Beatle named John
Is there anything more splendid to lavish my time upon?
I’ve poured the words so often in here
To express a love for a person not near

In this physical world we did not meet
It was in spirit plane that I did greet
This musician who sang and wrote some tunes
That caught a generation needing love and truth

I was here for his most famous time on earth
I was lucky to share in most of the mirth
The merry music, infectious and enduring
The depth of his character so alluring

I had to dig further, absorb and search
For something that I had no idea would perch me
On the threshold of my own dreams
Lead me to a life of purpose it seems

I am to help carry the torch for Love
To spread poetically the word from above
And share the history of the music and song
Written years ago by a Beatle named John

Fanfic Writer

Dear editor Susan
Will you read my Fanfic
I slaved for one hour to write it
Make it mine you pick

It's based on the life
Of a Beatle named Paul
And I need to know
Cause I want to be a fanfic writer
Fanfic Writer

It's a touching story
Based on a girl named Mandie
She's profound, intelligent
And smells like strawberry candy

Poor Beatle Paul
Doesn't stand a chance
Before he realizes
She'll be in his pants

And I want to be a fanfic writer
Fanfic Writer

If you really like it
You can buy the rights
And I know one million
Is a mighty fair price

I can add more characters
Maybe another chick
But what's the use
I'm Mandie and it's my FIC!

Oh I want to be a Fanfic writer
Fanfic writer!

About the Author

Sharon Richards lives in Orlando, FL.  She holds a degree in Broadcasting but her heart is held by John Lennon.  Spending years as a video production assistant and a decade in corporate America one element was consistent, she was always writing. When her business writing collided unexpectedly with her passion for John Lennon’s music, an explosion of creativity resulted.  “I've never been so passionate," Sharon says. " Studying John Lennon changed all that.  Inspiration is certainly at the base of most of my work.  I hope Beatle fans are open to it and enjoy reading my poetry as much as I have enjoyed writing it."  Sharon can also be seen at most Beatlefests promoting her book, Drop Forged Lennon, and its successor due out October 9th --  Drop Forged Lennon- the Other Side.  Check out her website at www.dropforgedlennon.com for details and upcoming poetic happenings with Sharon.
