Falling Again

Falling in Love again
With the time it was new
When you and I just met
You stomped on that stage
Thought it would break through
It certainly did

Twist and Shout, Hippy, Hippy, Shake
Talkin' 'bout you, mach shau mate
How is it I retreat so readily
To those days so early
With such clarity
So long ago

The happiest part of a life
I've never known, yet do
Always has you there
Embracing me, intoxicated on the music and you
I lose all worry and care
So why should it surprise me

This power so pervasive
You have over me
Though you never abuse it
Under your spell of Love I'm free!
Burdens of today fade to distant memory

I relish and revel in our passionate past
I let you take me and you are so accommodating
My whims you're satisfying
How can I not be reciprocating?
As we were creating
A space in time's eternity

Then when at last
I return to face the inevitable at hand
I bring back the essence of our time spent
In reality of now, your affections remain
I am renewed in strength
And I'm falling in love again

Lingering In Lunchtime

Here I sit at my desk
All surround in image of you
Processing yet another request
It's money for bills- this job I do

But the job seems unreal
The place is false to me
I wish I was with you
In that strawberry field tree

Perhaps I can project there
I don't think anyone
Here would care
Or notice or matter of course

So now it is there I know I am
A dream, a place of imagination
What's that you say? Yes, we can!
Why not?  It is of our own creation

I come here to seek distraction
Asking of the wise old tree
"Mr. Oak, what's your reaction?"
"He's not here just yet, but soon he will be."

Sometimes you're already on the scene
You don't know how much
That really means to me
I'm ready to enjoy your wit and such

And now we are meeting in this space
It's him again! Don't be nervous, relax!
My focus in the work place
Now gone, just keep staring at that fax

Then if I should get caught
Asked -"where are you?
What are you doing in thought?"
I answer quite plain and true

"Oh, imagining
With a special someone who
Takes me to a place of our own choosing."
Wide smile reflecting my mood

Only John and I know why

About the Author

Sharon Richards lives in Orlando, FL.  She holds a degree in Broadcasting but her heart is held by John Lennon.  Spending years as a video production assistant and a decade in corporate America one element was consistent, she was always writing. When her business writing collided unexpectedly with her passion for John Lennon’s music, an explosion of creativity resulted.  “I've never been so passionate," Sharon says. " Studying John Lennon changed all that.  Inspiration is certainly at the base of most of my work.  I hope Beatle fans are open to it and enjoy reading my poetry as much as I have enjoyed writing it."  Sharon can also be seen at most Beatlefests promoting her book, Drop Forged Lennon, and its successor due out October 9th --  Drop Forged Lennon- the Other Side.  Check out her website at www.dropforgedlennon.com for details and upcoming poetic happenings with Sharon.
