Sonnet #64: He Wanted To Tell Us

By Lisa N. Collins

George was one quarter of the world's best band,
A legacy he often tried to shun.
George heard a higher calling and command
Which helped him make his mind and spirit one.

George left a lasting stamp upon our lives
By asking us to seek our Spirit's Quest.
His music did propel his spirit's drive
As this dark horse succeeded his life's test.

George was a very private, gifted man
Who traveled his own Long and Winding Road.
The world still mourns his very brief life span
While reaping from the seeds of art he sowed.

He put his spirit into all his art.
He told us what he wanted to impart.
